Diaper bags

This blog is causing a little whip lash, I know. I go from house to baby to house....well, we're back to baby. Stick with me here. My latest endeavor is trying to find a diaper bag, or maybe two. There are literally 1 million to choose from and you have to hold yourself back from buying the cutest ones and keep yourself focsed on practicality including such things as space, dirty clothes/diaper holders, bottle warmers and all sorts of other options that I've discovered in my diaper bag travels. Who knew these bags had to be so strategic?? But, I guess it makes sense. I'd rather be prepared with my trusty bag than stranded somewhere with a crud filled baby and no clothes, bottle refill or wipes in sight! Here are a few options that I think cover both the "cute" and "practical" categories...

Baby's new ride

Mike and I ordered the stroller/travel system this weekend after much research and testing. We found several we liked online and then went to local stores to give them a test drive, as well as Mike giving each a good assemble/disassemble trial.

So after a handful of trips to the local USA Baby store, we made our final decision. The one we chose is the Quinny Buzz, which is this really cool European ride for our new baby. We also decided that our baby will likely not follow any of the traditional rolls or sterotypes of typical baby girls (because her parents are a little on the nutty side) and excitedly chose the color "Juice", shown here. How cool?!

Nursery furniture and my Amy Butler obsession

We've selected the nursery furniture and have it ordered. It's made by Pali and the series is called Salerno. I'm still contemplating what to do as far as a chair/rocker/glider goes. Stay tuned. The nursery is heading in an apple green/white/some pink route, which I think will look really great next to the dark wood furniture. Here is a picture of the furniture..it's java (not black as it appears here).

I'm looking at having crib bedding made locally with Amy Butler fabric. I love her modern designs and bright colors. Aren't these really cute??

Rug delivery and snow day

I worked from home today waiting for a rug delivery and it ended up snowing 2+ inches. Snow in Charlotte means no bread or milk on the shelves at the grocery store and major lines at the gas station. Since I was already planning on being here, the added benefit of hunkering down watching the snow fall was pretty cool. By the time I snapped these pics, the snow had pretty much melted. These are from a few minutes ago...

And....here's the rug just out of the plastic wrap and ready for Mike to get home to help me set it up!

Here we go...all moved in!

I guess I lied ...but I didn't mean it!

I took pics. I really did! I took lots of inside house pics to show that we are in, not living in boxes and have some sort of semblance going on here. But....I can't find the cord to get the pics off of the camera and onto the computer. So does it count that we are out of boxes but now can't find anything??? Agh! In better news...our little girl now has her very own clothes thanks to Aunt Corinna who sent the absolute cutest collection of Baby Gap stuff today. Corinna - thank you so much! You and John are too nice!!! Baby Vail is very lucky!

In and settled

Too much time has passed and I haven't gotten pics up here as promised. I'll do so tonight, I swear. That said, as you all know...we're in and settled. Have made necessary purchases to furnish what we wanted to for now and the rest of the house will be a work-in-progress. With our recent baby news, the nursery is now the top of the list. I'll get some "lived in" photos up tonight.
